So what are the specs on the neck, Leftee? (Scale, frets, back profile).

I also ordered smaller tuner buttons. I wasn't noticing until you mentioned it. Smaller might be good

I debated this when I bought the tuners. My decision was to buy the wrong ones. 😂

I have mixed feelings about the 10-16 compound radius. It works well for me on a Gibson conversion scale (59 roundback/6150 frets) but didn't dig it on a 25.5" scale boatneck with 6105s and a 1 5/8 nut width.

I like the 10-16 , 1 11/16” and that is my usual spec. I wanted a little more “Fender” at the nut this time.
Oh, and 1.75” nut width. 😎

I don't think I'd like the 1.75 nut width. Even on an acoustic I find that spacing clunky for everything aside from fingerpicking. I guess it's years of Fender muscle memory but I like 1 5/8.

So… still not plugged this is. But from an ergonomics standpoint it’s nice. I could extend the horn another inch or so to help with the balance. That said, this is a heavy neck.
I think this is going to be “my” body design.

I finally got to plug this in yesterday.
The bridge pickup had to come up a smidge and the neck down a smidge and a half. Perfect balance!
This neck humbucker works extremely well in that position with the electronics mentioned earlier. Nice fat neck tone but it doesn’t mud out with gain. I’ll use this pickup combo again!

Oh neck...where art thou?
I love the body shape, finish and the filtertron looking pickup Came back and added “That neck is really cool looking” after seeing your finished product later.

Play more, mess around less. That said, I have a Baja Tele that's great in every way, except the ash body makes it super heavy. The fat neck contributes some I suppose, but the idea has emerged to buy a lightweight body and transfer the hardware to it. Guitar Fetish has some nice double-bound bodies that they claim are under 5 pounds. Wonder if that would make much of a difference?

I thought I'd resurrect this thread for 2024. I only did the one body/guitar of my own design. I've lived with it for a bit and I really, really like it. The one change I'm going to incorporate is that I'm going to sculpt a bevel from the bottom strap button diagonally up to the back of the bottom. The thought is that the strap will lay on the bevel instead of making a sharp bend at the edge of the body. It's not a big deal and not a big bevel. Just something to give the strap a little less "break." I'm still fleshing out this idea. On my list for next year: - I want to finish a guitar or two in linseed oil - ala violins.
- I'm going to cut *and* rout my next body. To that end I've been using my router more on other projects just to get my mind wrapped around it and get my hands trained.
- I've bought a small CNC (Shark SD110) although I haven't finished setting it up. I've created my first vector graphic (a house number sign for our place) so that's the inaugural project. Pickguards and small parts like pickup rings are my ultimate goal for this machine. Both of those out of exotic woods.
- I really need to set up a proper paint booth.

I have never really worked on my guitars. My 6 string flat top has a buzzing string that is driving me crazy (3rd), and my PRS needs new volume pots (I have had them on hand for a good while now). I may get into it by spring. Really want to spend time playing and recording more.

I’m seriously contemplating my custom P Bass.
I had mentioned before designing it in the image of my Pawn Shop First Act guitar.
