I have a couple so far.
1. No more StewMac. I bought very little from them this year. So little that I didn’t renew my StewMax in Nov. they’ve done me well over the years… but it$ time to move on.
2. Cut a body from a body blank.

I’ve had a partscaster disassembled for a couple of years waiting for me to switch out the body and pickups. I ordered a nitro finish swamp ash body from a reputable dealer during lockdown but it didn’t work out so well. I’m determined to get the guitar reassembled when I hit the cabin this spring, as soon as I resolve the body issue.

3. I’m also swearing off wipe-on Poly. It looks pretty good, but it is not durable.

63 years old, retired, and haven't been in a band since 2009.. I m going to stop modding guitars and changing pickups like some people change underwear, and play the guitars that I already have.
At least that's the plan.

I have no more room for any more instruments without stuffing closets. I feel like I have one more Tele build left in me since I have a neck and a number of pickup options. I'm thinking either a pine/barn wood type or an exotic wood one, something like Mahogany with a Padouk lam.

Yikes, so much. Thanks for reminding me, let's see...
Put my '82 Dobro back together; I took it apart during the shut-down in order to do a neck re-set, found that the fretboard needed sanding. Sanding and neck set are done, It's sitting there waiting for me to get around to it.
I have one of my brother's basses apart as well. It's an early eighties Peavey something or other; the necks on these are two-piece, with the joint running vertically and are adjustable via a screw that's accessible from the neck plate. This one had separated a bit at the glue joint at the heel area (due to said adjustment screw). I glued it as well as I could and will probably make a shim for it or at least get something in there to keep the screw from doing the same thing again.
I have a couple acoustics that need neck re-sets, one of them also has a cracked bridge.
I have a bolt-neck lp special type guitar whose three-piece neck decided to twist itself into a twizzler last winter.
I also have template sets for a thinline tele and a firebird...
An Allparts tele neck that needs fret work.
Firstly I need to set up my spare room as a little workshop. I put wood flooring in there this past fall and now need to put together a bench and some cabinets to store all the tools.
I'm sure there are a few things I'm forgetting.

So I actually haven’t been real good with maintenance on my guitars. I just ordered some tools to help with guitar setups. I’ve always gotten by with eyeballing and adjusting to make it sound right. I would like to be a little better at it. I have a 80’s “Strat” the neck needs a good cleaning.

Find out why my AC15 buzzes loudly after accidentally leaving it on for 3 days.

Love the grain patterns. I’d go all crazy with the dyes.

Might get some new strings on one of my guitars.
I spend so much time working on other people's instruments that I tend to forget my own. If I play more in 2023, I might finally refret my 335. The frets are in okay shape, but the binding nibs are huge and the frets sort of slope down to the nibs too, so the high E is always a bit uncomfortable.

I got the amp done and everything is working great. It sounds fantastic. Yeah, I know most builders don't use silastic to secure the components, but I'm a bit of the nerd like that. It doesn't look pretty, but it's cheap insurance. I have found that some components can vibrate and create parasitic oscillation which can smoke an amp. It's going into this finger-jointed pine head cab I built for it.

I have the wood pop-in parts for my Taylor. Just haven’t gotten around to it yet. Probably some time end if this month or next, I’ll remove the battery compartment, ES2 preamp, and controls and properly wire the K&K soundhole pickup internally. Maybe even do a before/after video.

3. I’m also swearing off wipe-on Poly. It looks pretty good, but it is not durable. I was pondering wipe on poly to clear coat my current project. Never worked with the stuff. So not as durable as lacquer? This surprises me.

I have the Minwax wipe-on poly. It chips easy.
I have used a thin coat on an unfinished neck with fine results. My failures are bodies.

Okay, forget what I said earlier.. I got the bright idea to put the set of Fralin Blues Specials from my Squier Superstrat into my 2013 American Standard Strat. Had to order a new pickguard because I only want two knobs. And the best part is that I get to solder!

It's an easy modification and the tone is well worth it. The centrifugal force that increases the speed of the electron flow gets the sound to the amplifier before your fingers even play the note.
Plus it's easy and takes all of 5 seconds with a drill.
