One of the best parts of this forum is the wide range of where members live. For me, many of the threads are even more interesting because I get a sense of life in other parts of this great country. So I think it would be nice of posters quickly mentioned where they are talking about. It only needs to be a mention of what state you are writing about.
Just a thought from New Jersey. (yea I admit I am located at exit 13 on the NJ Turnpike) Thanks

Agreed, some of us are vocal about that and some are not. If you don't mind sharing, please do!
I took the liberty of pinning this thread and extending the title, I hope you don't mind.
Thanks!

I concur. It's a big wide world out there, and it's interesting to know where folks are posting from. I posted my location in the little box to the left for all the world to see.
My claim to fame is that I'm the highest, in terms of elevation above sea level, FDPer/MT2er, at el. 8500 feet.
I banged around the country as a young man, and lived in Overland Park, KS, Arvada, CO, and Houston. Then back to my home town of Omaha until we moved to Colorado 3 years ago.

Columbia Tennessee. About an hour south of Nashville. Born, raised, and lived in Phoenix AZ before that. It was kind of a culture shock moving from a metropolis of 4 million to a town of 34,000. I love it here and never intend to leave.

Southeast Louisiana, north of New Orleans and Lake Pontchartrain. If you look to the left you can get a clue to where I live. From a line in a Stephen Stills/Jimi Hendrix collaboration.
Stills lived around here as a kid, but I don't know anybody who knew him. He might have lived upstream and out of town.

Except for living in Los Angeles while attending music school, I've lived in Houston forever. Houston, Tx is wonderful place if you like concrete, traffic, heat, and bad drivers!

Well, I'm from New York. We get a break from the heat, but then we add in shoveling snow, so I think that makes them equal.

I read something about Houston drivers, it may have actually been here, that goes something like:
Houston is the only place where the same stranger that holds the door for you walking into the convenience store and says "good morning", will try to run you off the road and kill you 5 minutes later when you are both driving.
Man, is that true!

Born in New Jersey, but have lived all over the country.
My marker is thrown down in a little city called La Habra, in Orange County, California. Some call it "Guada-La Habra" because of its largely Latino population. It's bracketed by freeways, but the nearest onramp is 5 miles away, so pretty quiet here. I'm minutes away from big box stores like Costco and Sam's, WalMart, and chain hardware stores like Lowes and Home Depot, but there are neighborhood grocers and hardware outlets, too. We have more Starbucks than necessary (who doesn't?), but mom and pop coffee shops as well. There's a Regal multi-plex, shopping malls and more churches than you can shake a stick at.

Chris mentioned that he put his location in his tag line. I thought that was a good idea and did the same. That way it’s alway there in every thread I respond too.
Makes it a lot easier for you guys to quickly determine you can just ignore my post “o)

From about 1964 through 2013 I spent a great deal of time at our family cottage near Schreiber/Rossport Ontario and feel like an honorary Canadian. I don't think any one place dug into my soul as much as the north shore of Lake Superior. I miss it like a lost loved one.

Allentown, Pa, about 50 miles north of Philly. Yes, the same Allentown from the Billy Joel song. And, the Liberty Bell was hidden here some time during the Revolutionary War. Plus, since this is a guitar based forum, Allentown's eastern neighbor is Bethlehem, former home of famous guitar pick-up maker Bill Lawrence (RIP).

My wife and I have lived in Springdale, AR for almost 40 years. Springdale is the hometown of Tyson Foods, and within an easy 20-minute drive we have Walmart and Sam's Club corporate headquarters, JB Hunt Trucking, and the University of Arkansas. Also, mountain biking in NorthWest, AR has become huge with the help of brothers Steuart and Tom Walton. I've heard that an additional mile of mountain bike trails is being built each and every week.

Kittanning, PA. Near Pittsburgh.
Edited: Since Pinetree chipped in, I don't mind saying that I live about halfway between him and Pittsburgh.
Yes, the Pittsburgh team will show no mercy. OH I can't wait to watch it. Ok, how's this: a good game and the Steelers win in 2x overtime.

Born in Amherst, MA. Moved to Ottawa, Ontario, Canada when I was six. Moved to Montreal after high school, then London/Brighton UK for a while in my early 20s. Back to Montreal afterwards, then to Yellowknife, Northwest Territories for many years (punctuated by a couple of short stints in Fort McMurray and Edmonton, Alberta). Moved to Toronto in 2004 and have been here ever since. I've spent the most time in Yellowknife and Toronto, but they are adopted cities rather hometowns in my mind.
