I live in Northumberland: in England, but in sight of the Scottish border on a clear day. Do you get many clear days? We watch the BBC series "Vera", set in Northumberland, and we don't see much sun. Hope it's just the show. ;^D

Hi Bopper. We get quite a lot of clear days - northern England is drier on the East than the West. As for sun, not so much. It depends what you're used to. I've been working outside the past few days and it's been pleasantly warm and sunny. The forecast looks good for the week ahead too. Parts of "Vera" have been filmed near us, including at one of my local pubs.

I'm in south Louisiana, kinda in the center of East and West, a few miles north of the Gulf. Cajun country, the real deal tho. From 1980-1982 I was stationed at Fort Polk. Nice place, nice people, but I'm sorry... it was just way too hot and humid for me! However, I'm also sick of the snow up here! Strange but true story from Fort Polk: While I was there, I was selected to become a member of the Fort Polk Rifle Team, and represent the base in a National Competition. I became good friends with another guy on the team who was actually born and raised in De Ridder, Louisiana. Here's the strange part: this friend looked EXACTLY like a guy who lived across the street from me and graduated with me here in Allentown, they could be twins. Not only that, but they both have the same name! My friend in LA didn't know of any family up here in PA, but there has to be a link somewhere. Or, maybe one of them is a doppelgänger?

Born in England in Twickenham, just South West of London. Been living in The Netherlands (Holland) since 1983. I saw earlier in the thread someone claimed to be living at the highest elevation, our house is about 4m (13 feet) below sea level. If the dyke breaks we get rather wet.

My house is 1.62 miles in elevation higher in elevation than your house.
We have forest fires and avalanches, but no floods. If we ever get flooded, it's the End of Days.

I recently moved to Tavares, FL. Not great timing. I have lived in Missouri, Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, Illinois, Iowa (too young to have any memory of Iowa) and spent 3 months in Colorado before my employer decided to send me to Louisiana.

As for sun, not so much. It depends what you're used to. We're certainly not in the Sunbelt, though it's sunny (and cool) at the moment. No place like home. :^) Cheers.

Yeah...rain here at the house this morning. But just on the mountains above us there's 3 to 5 inches of new snow. But that's not unusual around here. Usually that's the case into May. The mountains are still sporting mid-winter conditions.

About 3 hours north of Toronto, ON. Woke up this am to 1” of snow on the ground. Mother Nature can be cruel. ⛄️ Years ago, I was going into Manhattan on the Staten Island Ferry during a huge snowstorm. The entire boat was dead silent that morning. As I stood by the open door looking at the snow pouring down, a kid that was also standing there by himself, maybe 11-12 years old, and he turns to me and says "Dang, Mother Nature a bitch!".
I still think of that kid every time someone tells a weather story like this. April 21 snow? Forget about it Mother Nature, you missed your window. Now you are supposed to wait for next year.
