Born and raised in the Philly 'burbs. I now live ~45 minutes NW of the city, depending on traffic on the Schuylkill Expressway (aka the Surekill Distressway).

I’m from NEOH - CLE-Akron-Canton, but now live in a small town just NW of Austin.
And yes, I too, am a long-suffering Browns fan. One SB win would be nice. It’d be even better to have Baker do it - he’s from a town directly across the lake from us. We’d party here like there’s no tomorrow.

I was born in the Bronx NY ...
But many people who know me believe I'm from another planet ..
And not one in this particular solar system ...
Or galaxy, for that matter ...

About 3 hours north of Toronto, ON. Woke up this am to 1” of snow on the ground. Mother Nature can be cruel. ⛄️ ...
April 21 snow? Forget about it Mother Nature, you missed your window. Now you are supposed to wait for next year.
Mike- Just one of the many perks of living in the GWN.

Born in the Greater Flint area of Michigan, lived 25 years in metro Detroit, the re-located to the Thumb area in Michigan (Work-related) The Thumb of Michigan is the most perplexing area. (I went from mack'in and hang'in in the Metro Detroit area with club music, to rural farmland... Good thing I liked Country music. As if time pasted it by, much of it is still mired in the 1970s-1980s with manual gas pumps (no credit cards, handle on the side, old school type) Drive-through party stores. Mainly rural farming with small towns populates the thumb. (they call themselves "thumbkins") grocery stores straight out of the Brady Bunch... think old school deli and meat counters etc. The lakeshore around much of the thumb is uninhabited, with farms running straight up to the Huron lake. (nope it's not like that in the rest of Michigan... summer cottages every 100 feet etc)
There is no major freeway to speak of in the thumb ... I chaulk up the isolation to this.. literally nothing but two lane highways. I drive 45 min one way through nothing but farm land, barrly see another car on the road. I dodge pleanty of deer, coyotes, chickins, and rabbits though... nothing but Jimmy Dean and Bob Evans all they way to work.
Music-wise: Modern country and Classic rock is the mainstream. Every open house, wedding, Fair, or Festivals plays mainly those genres. AM radio is big here too, You find an old school country or old school pop on it. At noon just about every radio channel relays the crop futures on the stock market. (i.e. FM and AM) Summertime every town as a festival going on. Imagine beer tents, BBQ good food, live music (Modern or Classic Country or Classic rock) Cowboy boots, tight jeans, long blond or brunette hair, some line dancing. In the summer, one can literally go to a festival every weekend! Farmers like to Party... who knew? (and their daughters are smoking hot too!)

Born in Manchester, lived all over the southern half. Was part of the local music scene in the early to mid '70s Left when I couldn't make a full-time living from it.

Born in, raised in, currently living in St. Paul, Minnesota. However, we expect to move to the suburbs soon for cheaper taxes and better public services.

I live in Tinley Park, IL (Southwest Chicagoland Suburb) but I will always be a proud Nebraskan at heart. I'm almost the opposite. Born in Oak Park, IL, but like you and Ragtop, spent a lot of years in Omaha (and all over NE: go HUSKERS!)... moved there in '74 (dad stationed at Offutt), graduated Bellevue H.S. in '76... ...bought guitars at Southroads Mall (Hospe's Music?), Russo's (when Vince still had the shop in his basement) and Dietze (way too many to mention). Currently in SW MN, but will probably return to Omaha when I retire in @ 4 years (if this COVID thing doesn't kill those plans, too).

My best friends Dad was retired Air Force and we got to go golfing at Capehart GC at Offutt quite a bit. The Southroads Mall is pretty much a wasteland as is Crossroads. Omaha is a great place to live but the Mrs. is too close to her family here at this time.

The Malls, yeah, crazy: Oak View Mall - the biggest and newest - is dying, and Westroads Mall is reborn! Never would've believed it! My two sons still live in Omaha and are heavy into the music scene there... I suspect we'll be back there someday unless the grandkiddies get moved somewhere far far away (with their mom, my daughter, and her husband, currently living in LeMars, IA).

I spent many a day going to Gizmos at the Westroads Mall. Then I worked as a stockboy at Younkers there . Good times.
