It could be the same place, I’ll find out when I speak with Val, she remembers everything. I can’t even recall all the states we’ve visited.

@ Zenland
Yes sir! The Joisey Contingent is all ready to ROCK. As my siblings keep telling everybody; The Devil is going down to Georgia.
I intend to keep my promise: NO String guy jokes. (You have no idea how hard that is for me!)
I will also tune up the drums for you before we start. They were in good shape last year, so that won't take me long.
Just to reiterate: ALL musical challenges will be honored; so bring it on!
All Hail "Sour Cream" minus two. (Inside Joke)

My fellow Jammers; I am safely back in Joisey, and at home in the "Griz-Cave"(I was able to lose the southern drawl once I got north of the Mason Dixon Line.) The last Zenland Summer GA Jam was a huge success. Thank you Jimmy for bringing the "snare" side drum head, you changed it out in record time before the festivities began. I do have to admit that "ALL" of you "String Guys" were a bit "LOUD"!! (I'm sorry, I couldn't resist) But most important, we all survived the "Grey Goose" ritual. How many bottles ( ) was that Mr. Zenland. @ Zenland: I want to thank you and your lovely wife for your magnificent hospitality, you made all of us feel right at home. If at all possible, please post the song we did to honor Bill Walsh (RIP). For those who were not there, we did a rendition of "Knock, Knock, Knockin', on Heavens Door" dedicated to Bill. I finally figured out the amplification guidelines that you "String Guys" were using. (Again I'm sorry, I can't resist, it's a drummer thing.) The back line amps were set at "TEN". I believe the terminology that you "String Guys" used was "diming them out"; then you would adjust the pedal boards as needed. My own personal observation; after each beer you "ALL" turned the pedal boards a notch up. Interesting system. FYI: When the drums rattle without any body playing them, you may want to reconsider that procedure. Did I mention that you "String Guys" were REALLY LOUD. On a more serious note: this was the last Zen-Jam. I believe Mr. Zenland set a record; my understanding is that he started in 2004 and made it to 2023. That is a magnificent milestone in anybody's book. For that accomplishment you have my utmost respect and admiration. That my friends is the sad news. The good news is that there were multiple rumblings of people possibly picking up the baton to continue the tradition. Keep in mind we all have to support and participate in every Jam possible or they will be a thing of the past. So hope for the best! By the way, the Barbecue was great, thank you for the "Marietta Mash" that somehow found it's way into my cooler. I hope to see everybody again.

Only one bottle on the Goose. Jeez-there was a lot of beer left. I offered it to my next door neighbors so that's good! I hope someone does continue the Jam festivities. I've spent a lot of money and this time was no exception but, it was a blast! I'm glad you had a good time Chickie! Oh, and the first year for me was '05. The very first year was 1999 and hosted by Earthchild. All Good!

I had a great time, thanks for all the years we we got to meet face to face and and do what we do.
I’m thinking your location just south of Atlanta is still perfect for this venue. A couple of us were talking about it at the jam. Find a venue we can lease for the day and continue the jam.
The only thing we may need from you would be showing up, maybe some recommendations for a local venue. I have a smallish Squire PA that was fine for local bar gigs. I think I have a mic or two, I’m sure there may be a few of us that can provide mics and stands.
Dolomite used to get us together at Delray Fl. Every year. Even Deep made it to one. First time I showed up he had no clue I was attending. I walked up to him and introduced myself, saying Cheese Coke. Kind of a FDP password.

OK this sounds like a good idea hushnel!!
Question is, does it take a permit to do this event there?? And is it covered if it rains? I can bring equipment as long as I know the place is safe!!

“ Question is, does it take a permit to do this event there?? ”
It shouldn’t , I worked at a park in Pittsburgh, the buildings could be rented. The out door areas could be used first come first served, they could also be reserved a head of time. This was a County park, the buildings had to be reserved for an event and there was a charge. We had weddings, reunions, family gatherings etc.
I would think that the county would have a list of venues available to the public. We could even do it outdoors with power and stage, the risk of bad weather is possible.
In most of these park events there usually were bands or a DJ. There may be a concern about the venue in the suburbs, but we don’t play all that loud and we primarily play in the afternoon, not into the evening.
Besides all this many hotels have conference rooms that may be available for the jam. There may even be a local bar that could accommodate us for an afternoon jam.

Permits would be more likely for county venues and outdoor parks etc, which are not optimum. A privately held lodge or club type meeting hall/ building will often rent them out to help pay the mortgage or lease.

So....Earthchild (Rick) sent me a text this morning asking if folks wanted to keep the Jams going?
He has a friend with a place near Stone Mountain where it could be held. They've already had some Jams there under a covered large carport area. He is from, what Rick said, building an outdoor performance area to boot. (OK-That would be Great!!)
Thoughts?
edit to add: I always wanted to, at least once, do the Jam on my back slab area but, never found the time to put up the necessary canopy in case it rained. Or because of the danged Georgia Heat in July!!!
