Non-porous surfaces don't harbor the nastiness like cloth and paper can.

Apparently it survives longer on certain surfaces like stainless steel and plastic. If anything can be drawn from all the conflicting information out there, it is probably that common sense measures are probably the best approach.

Let's face it...anything that is re-used has the problem of collecting various gunk/pathogens on it. We always re-use whatever paper bags (and plastic ones, too) we wind up receiving. I'm sure they've all got cooties. Obviously the long lifespan of the current wave of re-usable shopping bags (that's what we mostly use) means they are just around that much longer to collect more gunk. No way around this one. If it's any kind of bag getting a 2nd use, it's got something on it.

My wife reported to me today that the heaviness in her chest she was feeling has mostly subsided. She never had a cough or a fever. If this is all it was, we count ourselves among the lucky ones.

She also managed to drop and completely smash the screen on her iPad last week while not feeling well. She doesn’t know it yet, but her new one arrives tomorrow, a little gift for her troubles. So maybe I will not be in trouble for part of the day tomorrow.

Great news! Not about your improved health, but the fact you won't be in trouble.

That’s great! Apparently the viral load - the quantity of exposure- is measured by the intensity of the immune response, all else being equal .

That's great and incredibly fortunate. I'm hearing some sad stories from friends in heavily impacted areas, and there are some grim tales. So it's really great you guys have done as well as you have. Whatever the reason...who cares? It's just great to hear some folks have bounced back so well. Way to go!

I'm glad things are looking up at your place. We need to focus on the positive and keep doing the preventative.

This is very good news Mike -- I hope you guys can lay low for a couple more days to make sure the funk has passed. Then order a couple of Joe and Pat's pizzas to celebrate.

Dallas County has just extended their "Stay at home policy" until May 20th. He also was talking about how bad NYC is and much due to fact unlike many cities around the States many in NYC live in High Rises and the disease cannot go out but must travel up. I pray for the folks there.

We are up to 10 deaths in our state as of this afternoon (933 total cases, under 60 hospitalized). Death number 10 was a woman in my county (our first out of about 35 diagnosed cases) and she underlying health issues. Still, it's sobering. I was a bit shocked when I viewed the updated Idaho tally today. I've mostly been tracking UT and AZ thinking ID was somewhat insulated. Sadly, there is no such thing.

More and more people I know are testing positive, some are hospitalized, some are home with minor symptoms. Some are elderly or otherwise infirm and are scared to death as to what may happen.

I don’t know how I would know the difference between many of the symptoms of Covid-19 and heart failure and allergies! I have an elephant sitting on my chest and shortness of breath most everyday. Best for me to stay home and away from everyone.

Wow. Indeed, it is. I would have assumed, as others have, that Idaho would have been somewhat isolated enough to not be hit so hard. I did talk to a buddy in Sun Valley and he said that, yes...they were dealing with it at a significant level as well. As we here in NM know, the ski scene thrives on travelers and that's an Achilles heel. He said they have 2 non-stop flights daily coming in from Seattle, as well as being easily reached by car from there. So that became the introduction for them. For Colorado, it started with 2 skiers in Vail and Keystone. We here in NM (Taos) have no such connectivity (to speak of), so we've been spared such significant numbers. Plus it appears most of the county have been behaving themselves. Our county is almost twice the size of Rhode Island, but we've got a population density of only 15 people/sq. mile. So the "distancing" thing is kind of built in. Even on normal days, I could go about yard work and hiking and horses and never see anyone.
Counting our blessings, but being cautious and proactive nonetheless.
Yeah...sobering is right.

Going to leave this thread for others to post their experiences, if any, but as we all remain symptom free for several days now, I’m going to conclude my updates.
Thanks for all the support and well wishes, friends.
